This one is a loose Malcolm in the Middle reference, but you don't need to have seen it to get the comic. I'll try and avoid using too many references in future but this worked too well to pass up.
Scene being referenced:
Hal: "Dewey, go easy on the orange juice. That stuff doesn't grow on trees - wait, it does. So why is it so damn expensive?"
I'm hoping to keep up a weekly comic thing because comics are great drawing practise. Especially when it comes to expressions as the characters face usually needs to change in almost every frame.
MLP:FIM is owned by Hasbro.
WHY IS IT SO DARN EXPENSIVE TO GROW APPLES!!!!!!!
After reading it three times I still don't get it.
Explain please? C:
I feel dumb now. I've known that saying *facepalm*
In this comic she is complaining about how expensive it is to run the farm, then realizes that her product literally grows on trees, so it shouldn't be so hard to do her job.
Of course this overlooks the cost of water for the trees and labor to pick the apples.
