There wasn't really that much material to work with this episode, and most of the ideas I had were taken in the first 24 hours! This one is a more 'What if' comic featuring Trixie and the Flim Flam brothers!

I actually felt bad for the Flim Flam brothers, they were running a legitimate business and won the competition fairly. Also that song was catchy as hell! If they had used the good cider afterwards or quickly made a fresh batch they would have been fine. Yeah they had there moments of being 'normal badguy routine', but these were few and far between. I guess I really like their character more than anything.

Also, we need Trixie back!

Edit: Some people have raised some points against the Flim Flam brothers, I thought I should clarify my views. Ultimatly I liked them as villans because they didn't do the typical 'bad guy stuff' that so many villans do these days. Gilda pushed ponies around, Trixie was full of herself, the Flim Flam brothers? They were in it for the business, to sell cider to very clear and easy market. At the end they couldn't sell anymore cider and left Ponyville.

As for the bet, YES they started making cider which wasn't drinkable, but think about this: They tried to sell that cider afterwards and were genuinely surprised when the customers didn't like it. While they probably realised it wasn't as good as the filtered cider, they still expected it to taste like cider, which was completely within the rules of the competition. Now while they might not be completely innocent, I still don't think they're 'bad' ponies, they just come off as the bad guys because they went up against our favourite farming family.

I prefer them as antagonists. They create the conflict but aren't (really) evil or "bad guys."

Oh the hilarity that could be. Damn, this concept would likely make a humorous and enjoyable spin-off in it's own right...

Well, at least the SCS-6000 is faster than Trixie's cart.

The Flim Flam Brothers are definitely not bad ponies, but they do come off as rather conceited and seem to care more about beating out competition than they do about selling cider. What people and ponies don't realize, or don't give them credit for, is the fact that they are legitimate business ponies. Sure, the Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000 makes the cider for them, but that machine didn't invent itself. It didn't design itself and draw its own blueprints and specs, or buy its own parts, and the build itself. Flim and Flam did all that. They may not exert themselves much to make apple cider, but they certainly put a lot of work, not to mention probably hours of frustration, into their machine which turned out to work magnificently. So when they claim to be good at making apple cider, it is a legitimate claim. I hope they learned from their mistakes at Sweet Apple Acres, bought some land, grew their own orchard, started their own business, turned their machine into a factory, and became millionaires.

They didn't start chasing them until Flim turned on that getaway music. (Simpsons reference)

something I dont get about that episode is they went straight from "We might not have enough money to continue sweet apple acres" to "Now they own Sweet apple acres"
It never said that the land was actually part of the deal, they just said that they may have a bit of trouble in the future if they dont make enough money. Then after the compitition, Flim and Flam simply claimed the land
