"Rose, sometimes I think you're the only one who understands me" said the rose.

Been a while since I've done one of these. This time featuring Roseluck (Yes I still call her Roseluck) looking at a rose.

The rose was shaded in monochrome first, then had colour added under it. It is supposed to have a thicker stem than a normal rose, I wanted to keep it with a more cartoonish look.
Most difficult thing here was the eyes, specifically the white of the eye. The hair is done differently to how I normally do hair. A lot of trail and error there.
Reflections are something I did a lot of here, on the table and in Roseluck's eye. I always enjoy doing the reflections.
Been looking into back-lighting and interaction between light and skin (even though this isn't actually skin similar rules apply).
In terms of composition this is supposed to be symmetrical, using the rose's stem and Roseluck's hair to form the same curving shape, the eye and the rose head at the end of these curves, and finally opposing colours. All of this on a diagonal slope which you can draw using a straight line through Roseluck's hoof, through her eye, and into the rose.
Rose: Green curve, red highlight.
Roseluck: Red curve, green highlight.
Finally some basic wallpaper behind them.

Roses are hard to draw, won't do more of them for a while...

Very impressed with your attention to detail, particularly in regards to Rose's hair and the plant's ridges. The eye still looks kind of weird, but not weird enough to stop me from appreciating the rest of the picture.
