I say Vinyl, how is that job as a lighthouse working out?

You're just jealous, this hat is sexy and you know it!

That joke was worse than the music it was referencing.

The ability to draw eyes continues to elude me. I spent more time on Octavia's eyes than on the entire of Vinyl.

I realized while making this that Vinyl's mane is curved like a record while Octavia's mane is straight like a Cello's strings. I found that interesting.

Request Critiques is checked. I really want to improve with this more detailed work, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

You say that you want to improve on this type of artwork....?
You must be on something, because this blew me away with how stunningly detailed it is and how clever the idea was. And when you pointed out that Vinyl's hair was curved like the lines on a record and Octavia's are that of a bow string, I laughed because it was so true! Your technique is astounding and the personal accuracy of Vinyl and Octavia is beautiful. There are the smallest details in this wor and yet it had so much impact... You don't need to improve at all, all I ask is that you make more

Okay so I first want to say that me review may be a little biased because it is my belief that the top hat is the greatest thing ever made by man, God, or Pony. That being said, this is an amazing work of art. I love how the scene is split between the two, it really makes the differences here pop. The earthy colors of Octavia and the vibrant blues and violets of Vinyl contradict each other in a way that is pleasing anyway you look at it. Lighting is amazing, hair is amazing and I like how despite each of the two are obviously your own work, they are different. And I'm not just talking about colors here, the one thing I always focus on is character. Each side is perfectly set to their characters: Octavia sitting straight and poised with the "cutest" little glasses I've ever seen, and a classic not amused expression in her beautifully drawn eyes. Vinyl in a perfect laid back position that I would expect and a nearly classic smug smirk. Though I must admit that my absolute favorite part of this piece is their hats, which in themselves have character and depth reflecting those who wear it. To be as frank and simple-worded as possible, you have used an amazing idea to make an amazing work...amazingly.

Now I want to see a fanfic where Vinyl, in an age of advanced technology has to, for whatever reason, go back in time to a victorean/steampunk era to team up with 'Tavi from the past to... Save Equiestria in some as-of-yet-unspecified way.

i think it looks great. i wont be able to help you out much if you cannot tell me the program you used to make this. the lighting looks really bright on vinyl plus her horn at the beginning looks like metal. move your light up more and a little bit more out so it wont do that effect. but i really do love it.
